Jeanice Harrison Obituary

Jeanice E. Harrison beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully at home in Severance, Colorado, surrounded by loved ones on July 12, 2018 after a valiant battle with cancer. She was born July 14, 1937 in Afton, Wyoming to George Budd and Erma Grace Pead. She spent her youth in Fairview, Wyoming where she worked on the farm with her parents and siblings. She was the second of nine children born to Budd and Erma, just minutes behind her twin sister, Jeanette. She was educated in the Star Valley, Wyoming schools, achieved a GED after her marriage and went on to take classes at Colorado State University. She married Monty D. Harrison on June 18, 1953 in the Logan, Utah LDS temple. She was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints and held many responsible positions in the Church including: Relief Society President, Primary President, teacher, temple ordinance worker in the Denver, Colorado temple for about ten years, and other positions. She loved to travel with her husband, family and friends traveling through much of the United States and places throughout the world. She loved people and was kind to everyone with whom she associated. She had an infectious smile and ready laugh which endeared her to all who knew her. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends. She was a wife and homemaker until her children were all in school at which time she was employed by the Poudre R-1 School District as a teacher’s aide and office clerk for more than 20 years at Bennett Elementary School. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Frederick Pead, She is survived by her husband, Monty, and her four children, Susan (Thomas) Reinsch, of Lincoln, Nebraska, Cara Lee (Steven) Gardner of Springville, Utah, Lori Dawn (Allen) Miller of Dillingham, Alaska, and Alan (Laurel) Harrison of Littleton, CO. She is also survived by seven siblings, her twin sister Jeanette Denney, of Salt Lake City, Utah, Jeraldine Shorter of Orem, Utah, Ballard Pead of Orem, Utah, Brian Pead of Layton, Utah, Orson Pead of Thayne, Wyoming, Patricia Pead of La Verkin, Utah, and Debra Woodard of Saint George, Utah, 16 grandchildren, and 32 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held in the Windsor, Colorado LDS chapel at 500 Hillspire Drive on July 21, 2018 at 11:00 am . A viewing will be held on July 20, 2018 from 6 to 8 pm at the Bohlender Funeral Chapel 121 West Olive Street, Fort Collins, Colorado, and from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at the chapel prior to funeral services. There will be a viewing at the Schwab Mortuary 44 East 4th Avenue in Afton, Wyoming from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on July 23, 2018 with interment in the Afton cemetery following.
