Laureen Ruth Kudlock

Laureen, “Tootie”, Kudlock, 83, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2020 at Star
Valley Health in Afton, Wyoming. She was born on August 8, 1936 at home near Toledo,
Oregon. She was the fourth child born to Lawrence and Lela Svensen. She grew up on
several dairy farms in Oregon, Idaho and Colorado. She graduated from Lebanon High
School in Lebanon, Oregon and went on to beauty school in Salem, Oregon.
Tootie married Art Kudlock in Newcastle, Wyoming on April 7, 1968. They lived in
Newcastle and B.C., Canada before ultimately settling in Upton, Wyoming where they lived
on Willow Street for 41 years. Tootie provided childcare for quite a few babies and children
throughout the years. She was best known for her bread and gravy and also for her delicious
chocolate chip cookies.
She recently moved to Smoot, Wyoming, to be near her daughter and son-in-law.
She is survived by her husband Art Kudlock, daughter Cindy Whitney and son-in-law Jeff,
son Lance Kudlock, sister Sherri Mace, special niece Brenda Upton and very dear friend
Corina McPeters. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Duane and
Sherman Svensen and sister Inga Allen. A memorial is planned for later this summer.
