Susan Mcentire Banks's Obituary

Susan McEntire Banks, 39, of Alpine, Wyoming, moved on from this earth on the evening of Wednesday, December 30, 2015, while at home with her loving husband, Matthew. Susan was born on February 12, 1976 in Nashville, TN to Lee & Donna Corbett. Susan grew up in Green Hills, a suburb of Nashville, where she was known to school all the neighborhood kids on the basketball court in her pink high-tops. She was also famous for belting out songs at the top of her lungs and dancing to everything from Duran Duran to Kenny Rogers to 10,000 Maniacs at the drop of a hat.


Susan graduated from Denison University in 1998 and moved to Jackson, Wyoming in 1999. She met Matt, while working at C-V Ranch in 2000 and they began dating in 2001. Susan and Matt enjoyed 14 years of love and life, including their marriage in 2008. As a resident of Alpine, Susan loved kayaking on the Palisades and walks by the Greys River with her husband and their 3 dogs. Susan had a passion for yoga, cooking, her family and friends. Susan was vivacious, spirited, positive, and non-judgemental. She would do anything for the people that she cared about and never let anyone feel like a stranger. Susan worked for the Department of Family Services in Teton, Lincoln, and Sublette Counties over the past 13 years. Susan was devoted to working with at-risk teens and helping them realize their full potential.


Susan leaves behind her husband, best friend, and soulmate Matthew Banks of Alpine, WY; parents, Lee and Donna Corbett of Nashville, TN; a sister, Jennifer Corbett of Austin, TX, her twin brother Benjamin Corbett (Barbara Anne) of Franklin, TN; 2 nephews, Cameron Akrawi and Charlie Corbett (Franklin, TN), 3 nieces Cooper Corbett (Franklin, TN) Lily and Sophia Banks (Driggs, ID); among countless other relatives, friends, & loved ones.


Susan's husband and family invite friends and members of the community who knew Susan, to gather with them & celebrate her life on Saturday, January 9th, from 1-5pm, with a toast @ 3pm, at the Q Roadhouse, 2550 Moose Wilson Road, Wilson.
