Sue
Hymas
January 14, 1952 – December 1, 2025
Sue Anne (Hyde) Hymas, returned home to her Heavenly Father on December 1, 2025 in Afton, Wyoming, with her sister Nyla by her side. Sue Anne was born to Eldon and Rena Hyde on January 14, 1952 in Afton, Wyoming. Sue Anne spent her younger years growing up in Bedford, living up the canyon at the Strawberry power plant where her father was employed with Lower Valley Power & Light. She was often seen feeding the wild animals in her back yard. Her mother even saw her trying to give a slice of toast to a bear. She loved helping others. If you were her friend or family she would protect you and give her life for you. The pride and joy of her life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved spending time with them whenever she could. She would proudly show everyone pictures of them. You could tell by the look on her face how much she loved them. Her cherished possession was her black SUV in which she loved taking rides in. She loved watching her game shows and old westerns. Sue lived in various places during her life, Idaho, Utah, and Montana, but her heart was always in Star Valley. She lived with her sister Nyla in Bedford for a short period, then with her granddaughter Brittany in Idaho until she needed more care then they could provide for her. She then went to live at the Star Valley Care Center where she made many friends and enjoyed playing bingo and watching the birds outside her window. Her favorite past time, was her diamond art. She would spend hours working on each picture and then give them away to family and friends. She won a blue ribbon on one of her diamond art pictures at the Lincoln County Fair this past summer. A special thank you, to all the staff at Star Valley Care Center and Star Valley Hospital for their care of Sue. Sue Anne is survived by two children, Shawn (Trish) of Washington, and Mike (Emily) of Smoot, Wy. who are the love of her life. Her grandchildren; Brittany Hyde of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Sarah (Tyler) Beck of Utah, Jayden (Tessa)McCallmant, Kage (Summer) Hymas , Mack (Ryleigh) Hymas, all of Montpelier, Idaho, and Shawnee of Smoot, Wy., Great-grandchildren; Tamarack Hyde of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Haisleigh and August Hymas, Wariah and Emery McCallmant of Montpelier, Idaho, Eleanor and Forrest Beck of Utah.
