Seloma Cluff Porter passed away peacefully on September 20, 2026, at the age of 86 surrounded by family.

Seloma was born on April 30, 1940, in Provo Utah, to her father Spencer Marion Cluff and her mother Nina Hannah Porter. She married her eternal companion Lynn Austin Porter on June 15, 1961 in the Salt Lake Temple. Lynn was her greatest love and she honored and respected him.

Mom and Dad modified their small home in Grover Wyoming, allowing Mom to pursue her career. She became a beautician early in her marriage. She ran her own salon business out of the home. She became a very popular hair stylist and built up a substantial cliental. She was also working full time as a secretary/aid for the Star Valley School District.

Mom assisted Dad with the Ranching Operations at the Open Box L Ranch in Grover, Wyoming for over 43 years before moving to Utah. Many fond memories were built in Star Valley Wyoming. She was an exceptional cook and especially loved serving her neighbors. She was a food judge and utilized her cooking skills during the annual Lincon County Fair. Seloma loved cooking and all the neighbors benefited from her culinary skills. She always focused on trying to prepare all meals from scratch. Mom always made sure her three sons knew their way around the kitchen and how to help out around the home.

Mom developed asthma at an early age. One of the joys for the family was watching Mom’s health improve when Dad sold the Ranch and moved to Utah. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions in the church. She had a strong belief in her Savior Jesus Christ and taught her sons to love the Lord.

Seloma is survived by her children Wynn (Cindy) Porter of Tooele, Utah; Lance (Lisa) Porter of Vernal, Utah; and Kip (Tricia) Porter of Stansbury Park, Utah; two sisters Karla (Lynn) Sorensen of Provo Utah, Nelda (Dale) Cazier of Afton WY, and her 2 brothers Jack (Bev) Cluff and Ron (Alicia) Cluff. Seloma has 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Seloma was preceded in death by her husband Lynn Austin Porter, son Tracy Porter, parents Spencer Marion and Nina Porter Cluff, brothers Marion (Dawna) H Cluff, Jerry (Linda) Cluff and Richard (Joy) Kirk, and, sister Nortica (Norman) C Barker.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday October 1st at 11:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints meeting house located at 691 East Cedarview Cir., Tooele UT with a viewing prior to the service at 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. A graveside service will be held at the Grover Wyoming Cemetery on Saturday October 3 at 12:30 PM.
