Rhoda Sevigny
Rhoda Ann Booth Sevigny, 25, passed away Sunday Nov. 20, 2011 at Intermountain Medical Center from complications due to PPH. Rhoda was a loving mother and devoted daughter, sister, companion, and friend. She has been committed member of the Star Valley Community from the day she was born until her death.
Born Oct. 31, 1986 to Isidore and Patty Sevigny, Rhoda was delivered at mile marker 95 at the Silver Stream Lodge parking lot in the Jeep by her dad.
After graduating from Star Valley High School, Rhoda began her career as Head Teller at First Bank, residing on Goodnighbor Lane, Etna. She was a longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Rhoda loved the outdoors. As a little girl, the family spent many days at the Palisades Lake and camping throughout the valley. She continued to find peace around water and nature. She cherished her drives up the Greys River with her brother Robert. It was important to her to teach her girls about the peace and escape that could be found in the outdoors.
Rhoda was brought up with strong family values. They traveled across the country visiting many National Monuments and Attractions. Her kind heart, infectious smile, and constant giggle made all those times together so memorable. Rhoda's parents gloat about being able to watch their daughter turn from a teen into a fine young mother. With heartfelt pride they watched the wonderful job she was doing raising her precious girls. Rhoda loved family, home, and being a mother. Her family continually speaks of her ability to stick to the job at hand, pushing through, no matter what obstacles were standing in her way. This was true right up to the end.
Rhoda loved her job at the bank. She was always very compassionate to others. Bank customers would often pass up an open teller line and wait for Rhoda. Everyone could count on her for a cheerful word, pleasant smile, or a kind dead. Her goal was to make everyone's day a little brighter.
Rhoda's family has long talked about being donors. She donated to locks of Love one last time, along with giving the ultimate gift, her earthly body.
Rhoda leaves behind: parents; Isidore and Patty, Fiancé; Tyler, 4 beautiful girls; Rebecca 14, Bryjitte 6, Tessa 4, Izibelle 22 months, Siblings Marilee of Las Vegas, Jessica of Chicago and Robert of Kenai, Alaska; grandparents: Jim and Sally Matthews of Nev., Robert and Loretta Lechner of Minn., and numerous nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She is preceded in death by: grandfather, Alfred E. Sevigny of Minn., and Great Grandfather and Grandmother Poulson of Utah.
Rhoda, Thank you for being a part of our lives.
A donation fund has been set up for her children at First Bank under Rhoda Sevigny C/O Tyler Booth.
