Ralph Kennington Haderlie's Obituary

Ralph Kennington Haderlie passed away peacefully at home on October 20, 2016. Funeral services will be Friday October 28th at 11:00 am in the Thayne LDS Stake Center. There will be a viewing Thursday October 27th from 6-8 pm at the Schwab Mortuary in Thayne and from 9-10 am prior to the services at the Stake Center. Ralph was born June 1, 1931 to Tressa Kennington Haderlie and Oliver Romeo Haderlie in Thayne, Wyoming. He was married to his eternal companion, Shirley Ann Wolfley Haderlie, in the Logan LDS Temple, on February 14th, 1951. Ralph grew up in Star Valley, purchasing the family ranch in 1965. He is well known for his constant hard work, organization, and his attention to detail. While running the ranch, Ralph worked at the Star Valley Cheese Factory. He was also a truck driver, school bus driver, concrete foreman for the Palisades Dam, and operated a successful hunting & outfitting business. He operated the outfitting business for over 30 years. This business, which was more of a passion, allowed him to meet many individuals from across the United States. Many of these acquaintances became lifelong friendships. There have been many hours spent reliving the stories and experiences that occurred in the mountains. Ralph loved the outdoors and could always be found riding a horse. He loved herding cattle during the summer months. Ralph was an active member in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where he served in many positions and callings. Ralph & Shirley served an LDS mission in 2001, serving in the Las Vegas East Mission. Ralph loved the youth and found enjoyment in serving them. Ralph was always one who could be counted on and was always there for others in a time of need. His unique personality, humor, and quick wit combined with his unconditional caring nature is something that he will always be remembered for. Ralph is survived by his wife, Shirley, five children; Richard (Cinda) of Thayne, Wyoming; Michael (Becky) of Soda Springs, Idaho; Randy (Char) of Afton, Wyoming; Laurie (Tony) of Evanston, Wyoming; and Christopher of Thayne, Wyoming. He also has 16 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Ralph's greatest love was his family and his heritage. He wanted nothing more than to have his family around and be a successful husband, father, grandfather, son & friend. He will be greatly missed, but now he is free from pain and limitations of a failing physical body.
