Nevada Sue Reynolds
Our beloved mother and grandmother Navada Sue Reynolds 76, died on Oct 31, 2014.
She was born Sept. 27, 1938 in Milan, Tennessee, to Mary Lou Stephenson and Clem Ta Te. She grew up in Askansas. March 17, 1954 she married the love of her life, Douglas A. Reynolds. They moved to Utah so he could continue his education. To this union was born 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls. Two passed away at birth (Alan and Susie). She picked up and moved a lot during their marriage. During this time they also adopted another boy (Alan) and girl (Yvonne).
Nevada loved to cook, something she learned to do on her own and also sewing for her family and for their hobby, Indian Dancing, Singing cowboy music was a great love. She loved flowers and a well kept yard. Loved to travel, camp, fishing and to hunt arrow heads.
She loved her family and traditions. Christmas was her favorite.
She also was a leader in 4-h for many years.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held many positions. Had a great testimony. She was sealed to Joe Carlos Mathis and Mary Lou Stephenson, the only Father she ever knew and loved.
In 1990 she was diagnosed with Parkisons. This did not slow her down. She worked and played just as hard.
She was an example of strength, courage, pride, endurance to all that were around her. She could always bolster your spirit.
Nevada is survived by her children Roy (Amy) Reynolds of Montana, Janet (Lee) Schwab of Thayne, Alan Porter (Marie) Reynolds of Boise.
She has been blessed with 12 grandchildren and 23 Great Grandchildren. Jean (Dave) Parker of Arkansas, Mary Lou Mondier of Arkansas are her sisters
Many nephews and nieces.
A Special family addition, she adopted and loved Cindy and Darrell Winchester and their children.
She was preceded in death by her husband Doug, son, Alan, daughters; Susie and Yvonne; her parents, sister; Martha, brother; Ben David. Great Granddaughter Caitlyn Nelson.
Funeral Services will be November 8, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Thayne Stake Center. A viewing will be held prior from 10 am to 10:45 in the church.
