Nancy Barr's Obituary

Nancy Barr passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family after a long battle with cancer. She was born and raised in Montgomery County located in central Mississippi with her brother, Paul Jenkins, by their parents Frank and Helen Bramlett. Nancy had the privilege of being part of a tightly bound family that not only included her parents and brother but also aunts, uncles, and many cousins. She often spoke of the summers she and Paul spent with cousins getting into tons of mischief. When these lifelong friends gathered, they were always able to pick up right where they left off, as they reminisced about their adventures, while entertaining us all. The amount of love, laughter, and of course family banter could always fill any size room and sometimes entire restaurants whenever they would come together, no matter how much time had passed.

Nancy spent most of her young adult life in the South while she started a family of her own. After her kids were no longer small, she made the decision to pursue a carrier in healthcare. She graduated in 1995 from the St Joseph's School of Nursing located in Memphis TN. She enjoyed many specialties in the nursing field which included home health, hospice, and then finally settling into the ICU. While she loved the South and how close she was with her family, friends she also longed to explore and experience new places, which ultimately led her to travel nursing. She loved that she was able to have these new adventures all while using the skills she learned and doing what she loved, which was caring for her patients.

It was during her nursing travels that Nancy would meet who she affectionately called her "Cowboy", Charlie in 2006. They quickly found that they had much in common and were equally enamored by one another while they were both traveling for work. They married March 14th, 2010, in Las Vegas and later sealed in the Star Valley, Wyoming temple November 25th, 2023. They had finally found in each other a lifelong partner to share in the adventures. One of their favorite leisurely activities was riding their motorcycle and traveling through the National Parks, taking in the scenery. It was just these adventures that led them to make the decision to plant their roots here in Wyoming. While their love of riding the Harley through Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons is what initially brought them to settle here, it was the many welcoming neighbors and friends in the community that welcomed them into their families that made this feel like home to them. Words cannot even begin to express how much love that not only Nancy, but Charlie as well, has had for the church family that they had been extremely blessed to become a part of.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Charlie Barr, and their children- Tara (Timmy) Oakes, Mona (Dave) Jones, Jeremy (Gina) Frazier, Kimberly Moon, 14 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Helen Bramlett, and brother and life long best friend, Paul Jenkins.
