Mary Irene Tippetts Hoopes's Obituary

Our dear Mother and Grandmother, Mary T. Hoopes passed peacefully away on Monday, February 3, 2014, at 9:00 p.m., at her home in Fairview, Wyoming. She was able to stay in her own home with dignity and grace, as she wished, until the very end.

Mary Irene Tippetts was born on August 22, 1925 at Osmond, Lincoln County, Wyoming to Claudius Tippetts and Bessie Louise Gomm. Her siblings included Ruth, Ivan, Eva, Jack, Colleen, Victor and Jim. She married Byron Ebben Hoopes on October7, 1941 and they were married 65 years until his passing 7 years ago. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on September 11, 1942. One of Mother's proudest points of conversation was her family. She proudly said, "we have raised five handsome sons and five beautiful daughters. Our children are our eternal wealth." They include: Bryon Errol Hoopes, Mary Lou (Tom) Harmon, Laurel Warren (Peggy) Hoopes, Carolya Sue (Bruce) Bolinder, Sally Anita (Chris) Matesen, Richard Clarence (Kathy) Hoopes, Reynold T. (Valeri) Hoopes, Randall Victor (Linda) Hoopes, Melodee Byrene (Nick) Yurasek, and Celeste Luella (Guy) Jacobson; and 29 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Her patriarchal blessing said she would be an honored Mother in Zion, and she is. She was blessed with excellent health most of her life, which she was extremely thankful for. Her hearty nature, resilience and spirit will live on forever.
