Loyce
Roberts
April 21, 1947 – February 17, 2025
Loyce Mary Carter Roberts April 21, 1947 – February 17, 2025
Loyce Mary Carter Roberts, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2025, at the age of 77. She was born on April 21, 1948, in Afton, Wyoming, to Virgil and Ruby Helm Carter. Loyce married her high school sweetheart, Kendall C. Roberts, on August 12, 1966, in the Idaho Falls Temple, beginning a lifelong partnership built on love, faith, and laughter.
Loyce had an undeniable zest for life and a heart that welcomed all. She never met a stranger, only friends she hadn't yet made. Whether spending hours on the phone, chatting in her home, or simply brightening someone's day with her quick wit, she had a way of making everyone feel heard, loved, and valued. Known as the class clown in high school, her humor remained a hallmark of her personality throughout her life—even playfully teasing her caregivers until her final moments.
Loyce deeply loved the Lord and dedicated her life to serving Him. She held many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving at both the stake and ward levels in the Relief Society, Young Women's, and Primary organizations. Her faith and service were an inspiration to all who knew her. Of all the roles she cherished, being a grandmother was her greatest joy. She treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren and carried the title of "Grandma" with deep pride and devotion. Her love extended beyond her family to the many children at Etna Elementary, where she worked as the school librarian. To them, she wasn't just a librarian—she was "Grandma," a storyteller, a mentor, and a source of warmth and encouragement.
Loyce's legacy of kindness, humor, and unwavering faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She leaves behind a family who adored her and countless friends whose lives were enriched by her presence.
