Loa Allred Burgon's Obituary

Loa Allred Burgon, our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Friend, and Angel passed away November 16, 2016 due to complications with cancer. Loa was born on October 16, 1933 to Elden Pratt and Amy Leola White Allred at their home in Fairview, WY. She was the youngest of seven children and the only daughter. Her siblings include Morrell, Enid, Bryce, Garth, Val Dee, and Kaye. She lived a life full of joy and love. She cherished her family and taught many through her exemplary life of service, love, and devotion. Loa was raised in Fairview, WY and later moved to Salt Lake City to seek employment. She was sealed to Horace Lynn Burgon in the Logan Temple on June 3, 1958 and has four children - Kirk Burgon, Bret (Marilee) Burgon, Cherilyn (Gordon) Bramall, and Cindy (Paul) Nielson. Loa blessed many lives with her musical talents. In 1979 she was called as the ward organist. She worked hard and taught herself how to use the organ and became a master at the foot pedals. She played the organ for many congregations from 1979-2015. She also served as a temple worker in the Jordan River Temple for three years providing beautiful prelude music in the Baptistry. She served as Primary Pianist for eight years. This was a calling she loved, and the children all loved her too! Loa was an angel all throughout her life and gave support, love, and service to those around her. Whether it was the widows in the neighborhood, or the young growing families, she was always looking for ways to bless others with her goodness and talents. Of those talents was the art of cooking. Each year people look forward to her caramel corn, pickled beets, dilly beans, and abundance of baked goods. She would drive all over the valley to deliver yummy Christmas treats to those whom over the course of her life became close and choice friends. Loa is survived by her brother, Val Dee, 4 children, 11 grandchildren - Sarah, Kevin, Jeff (Carah), Rebecca, Kelly, Greg, Mindy, Whitney, Emily, Zach, Holly, and a great grandson, Ryker. We would like to thank the Quality Hospice Team for their loving service along with all those who have cared for Loa throughout her life! On Friday, November 25, 2016 funeral services will be held at the Marcrest 1st LDS Church at 6170 Marcrest Drive, West Valley City, UT. Services will begin at noon.
