John J. Sontag, Jr., 59, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2018. Originally from the Carolinas, John moved to Star Valley in 2009 from Michigan, and grew to love the serenity of the West. He was a machinist by trade, until moving to the valley and doing construction labor. John was an intelligent, hard-working man with a sharp wit, and loved to be around people that didn't take themselves too seriously. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting and camping, making Star Valley a perfect home for him. He leaves behind two daughters, Aubrey (Steven) Oslund and Rebecca Sontag, two grandchildren, 5 sisters and a brother.
