Altman
January 3, 1935 – July 13, 2024
Janice was born in Watertown, SD to Andrae Palmer Kirkeby and Fern Deloris Kirkeby (Thoe) on January 3rd, 1935. She had one sister Bonita Willer (deceased). Janice went to see her heavenly father on July 13, 2024, she was at home when she passed.
Janice and her family ended up in California, where she worked at a bank for many years. She graduated from Monrovia High School. She worked in the office at Whittaker Corp, in Monrovia, CA, where they manufactured aircraft parts, and also where she met our dad. They we're married in Las Vegas on January 11th, 1971.
Janice loved the outdoors, her and dad would take the camper down to Palisades Lake (Old Alpine) and camp by the big old tree. They also spent may times up Greys River with family and friends. She loved to sew, she worked at the Powderhorn in Afton, then Wyoming Woolens when it changed over. She opened her own little sewing shop called Hobby Horse Farms here in Thayne many years ago. Sewing was her passion. She also worked at the US Forest Service in Afton for a lot of years. And about 10 years at Maverik.
Jan and her lady friends would get together once a month to play cards and drink wine. They would also go out to lunch. Jan had a thing for the Arabian horse, she would say that she always wanted to be in one of their shows, all dressed up. She fancied the greys with the black nose. She also loved some good old music, and was also part of the bowling league, had some really good times at State and at National's in Reno, NV.
