Ione Parsons Helm was born May 31, 1926 in Smoot Wyoming to Thomas and Leona Parsons. She passed away September1 2025 in Logan, Utah. Ione was raised in Smoot, where she helped on the family farm along with her seven siblings. She graduated from Star Valley High School. On April 19, 1946 she married Ernest Helm in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Forty-five years later they were sealed in the Logan, Utah temple on April 19, 1991. Together they have six children. J Ann Hyde (LaMoyne), Dennay Burrie (Dee), Verda Nell Justesen (Dan -deceased), Dave Helm (Ellen), Jill Larson (Terry), and Van Helm (Daydra). For many years she was employed at Lower Valley Energy.

A night viewing will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025 from 5:00pm -7:00pm at Schwab Mortuary. Funeral will be Friday, September 19, 2025 at 1:00pm with a viewing prior to the service starting at 11:00am in the Cottonwood LDS Chapel. Interment will follow on the smoot cemetery.
