Gregory Alan
Rickman Sr.
May 17, 2014
Gregory A. Rickman, 62, passed away suddenly on May 17, 2014. He was a beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather and friend.
Greg was born the second of two children in Massachusetts on May 4, 1952 to Gilbert and Shirley Rickman. He spent his early years moving around the country as part of a military family, eventually settling in Mt. Holly, New Jersey.
Greg met Susan Paterson and together they had four children. Greg was always an avid hunter and outdoorsman, and decided in 1986 to heed the call of the West and the family moved to Jackson, Wyoming.
In Jackson Hole, Greg realized all his dreams of the outdoors. At one time he owned an outfitting company and enjoyed bringing the horses into the wilderness for hunting expeditions. He often liked to re-tell his stories of having grizzly bears come into camp and having wooly adventures on semi-broke horses. Greg loved hunting everything, but especially elk, bear, antelope and arrowheads. He took great pride in introducing each of his children, and even their spouses, into the sport of hunting, and created some amazing, lasting memories during these adventures.
On August 5, 2011 Greg married Linda Bellville. Together they built a beautiful life in Alpine, Wyoming sharing their love of hunting and camping. They enjoyed taking care of their home and property, as well as their horse, Red.
Greg is survived by his loving wife, Linda; his adoring daughters, Christine (Randy) Alfano; Andrea (Reid) Smith and their daughters Ava and Ashtyn; and Jacquelyn (Patrick) Schaaf and their children Elijah, Keziah, and Malachi, and Sean (Michelle) Doughtie and their children Kennon, Chase and Jon Miller .
He was preceded in death by his loving son, Gregory Jr.; his parents Gilbert and Shirley, and his brother Ricky.
A celebration of Greg's life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday May 23rd with a viewing starting at 10:00 am to 10:45 am at Schwab Mortuary in Thayne, Wyoming, followed by a graveside internment at Aspen Hill Cemetery in Jackson, Wyoming at 2:00pm.
