Dixie Marie Miles Essenmacher, 85, of Afton, Wy, Died November 11, 2016 with her son, Todd and daughter in law, Lisa by her side. Dixie, the daughter of Desmond and Martha Miles and Mother to son, Todd, and now deceased son, Scot, passed away due to complications of diabetes following surgery. Dixie is survived by her Son, Todd, her daughter-in-law, Lisa and her much loved Grand "fur-babies" Jack, Millie, Max and Gracie. Dixie lived in Orange County, CA until moving to Star Valley, Wy in 2010. Todd built her two homes. She lived in her home on Todd's ranch half the year and wintered at her home in Afton. She loved the mountains and wildlife that she was able to enjoy each day in the Valley. Though her mind remained sharp as ever, due to the progression of physical challenges related to her post polio syndrome, she spent the last few years living in the Star Valley Care center. She was happy, positive, and still enjoyed watching the deer outside nearby. She loved visiting with her caregivers and friends while keeping up on the latest Star Valley news. Dixie lived a full life and will be greatly missed! She will be remembered for her strength, determination, grace and constant love. A private graveside service was held on Nov. 19, 2016.
