Dee Yeaman, 78, passed away at his home in San Antonio, Texas, on Monday, Feb. 11, 2013. He was born April 13, 1934 in Afton to Bill and Idella Yeaman. He was the second child in a family of three boys and a girl. His siblings were Bud Yeaman of Afton; Jerry (Deceased); and Mary Ellen (Schooley) of Pinedale. He grew up on the family ranch northwest of Afton (now the Morris Gibbons Ranch), attended school in Afton and graduated from Star Valley High School in 1952.
Shortly after graduating from SVHS, he joined the United States Air Force and spent four years in the service. Upon discharge from the military, he worked in San Antonio, where he met, fell in love and married Alice Barrera. They were married on Sept. 13, 1958. To this union three children were born: Patrica, Lawrence and Laura. After getting married, Dee worked various jobs in the San Antonio area for a while and then went to work for Bendix Corporation as a communications engineer in Southern California. He worked in that capacity until he retired in Bendix in the late 1990s. Shortly after retirment, he and Alice moved from the San Bernadino, Calif., area to San Antonio. Funeral services were held Feb. 16, 2013. Burial took place in the Afton Cemetery.
