Dawson McKenzy Barrus, age 18, passed away September 2, 2018, at home in Idaho Falls. He is the son of Jeremy and Brittany Barrus Kooistra, and Jeremy Chatterley. Dawson was born March 19, 2000 in Afton, Wyoming. He attended Star Valley High School and later attended Hillcrest High School in Idaho Falls.

Dawson was a member of The Church of Jesus of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed playing video games with his brothers, Trayton and Zaydon, skateboarding, dirt biking, and spending time with family and friends. Dawson was a jokester, he always wanted everyone around him to be happy. He will be remembered for his kindness and willingness to help others. He had an open heart for those in need. He was loved for his ability to make others feel better when they were down. His smile a could brighten anyone's day. On July 23, 2018 his son Greyson Oliver was born, this little bundle brought Dawson much joy.

He is survived by his mom and Dad, Jeremy and Brittany Barrus Kooistra, his father Jeremy Chatterley, his son Greyson Oliver Barrus, his grandparents Marc and Linda Barrus, and Grannabelle Furgason. Special people in his life, Jen Kooistra, Paul Cosson, Sativa Bulletts, TJ & Carissa Gasser, Siblings Trayton, Zaydon, Zack, Zoey Kooistra, Parker and Abby Cosson, and Addison McCarty. He was preceded in death by his uncle Anthony and McKenzey Barrus. Dawson will be forever in our hearts.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 8, 2018, Visitation from 9:30-10:45am, Funeral 11:00am, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Afton 3rd Ward, located at 165 Est 5th Ave, Afton, WY 83110
