Obituary

Dale Francis Stewart passed peacefully on May 18, 2026, in the family residence he built with his own hands on Star Valley Ranch. Dale was in the company of his daughter, Jaymie Stewart, who provided care near the end of his life. Dale will be missed by family and many friends.

Dale was born to Erlene Stock and Harold Press Stewart on April 25th, 1949, in Henderson (Clark County) NV. He grew up in Alamo, NV where he developed an exuberant work ethic within the family business and a curiosity for knowledge that would define his life. Dale first attended the University of Las Vegas where he studied sociology and psychology. Later he continued his education at the University of Utah. Dale remained a lifelong learner of science, gardening, politics, history and music. He believed in personal growth through acquiring knowledge through experience, print and digital media.

Dale’s life work centered around building Star Valley Ranch, including the golf courses and RV park. Through years of hard work and dedication to the family business, he was instrumental in creating the legacy of the Stewart family which generations of Star Valley Ranch residents have come to enjoy. He had a remarkable ability to create, repair, and improve nearly anything he set his mind to. Dale loved gardening and was known to surprise others with hanging baskets and planting flowers. He also provided flowers to many mothers on Mother’s Day, especially through his affiliation with the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. As a church member, Dale led various activities by mentoring others and organizing meals for large groups.

Dale was preceded in death by spouses Anna Dee (Andy) and Rhea, by parents Harold and Erlene Stewart, and brother Bradly Stewart and son in law Kevin Smith. He is survived by his five children Shannon Risser (Jeff), Jaymie Stewart, Johnathan Stewart (Ashley), Sean Stewart (Quincy), Ben Stewart (Kelly), and many grandchildren, as well as siblings H. Val (Kathy), Michael J. (JoAnn), Timothy Wayne (Deb), and Pam Driscoll Davies (Wayne).
