Claudia Jean Burkhardt passed away suddenly in Afton Wyoming on January 26,2016 She was born February 2,1949 in Meriden CT., the daughter of the late Jean and Leigh Burkhardt . In the late 70's she traveled to Jackson Hole Wyoming to hike and ski, and fell in love with the beautiful wilderness. She made Wyoming her home. In addition to reading, sewing, and cross-country bicycling her passion was cooking. She ran "Catering by Claudia" from her home in Wilson, Wyoming for many years. In her retirement she moved with her beautiful Russian Wolfhounds to Bedford, Wyoming. She actively volunteered for "friends of Thane Library", was an aide in the elementary schools and delivered food for Meals on Wheels. Claudia was also a proud member of The Jackson Cow-belles. Claudia eventually moved to Afton, Wyoming to be with her beloved friend Jerry Hall. She leaves behind her best friend, and sister, Shelley Tylec, her brother-in law William Tylec, of Waterbury Ct., her brother Leigh Burkhardt and Barbara Perzan of Haddam, Ct., and many loving friends. Her favorite saying was " Each small kindness like a seed grows tall in memory"
