Clara Leath
Henderson
February 1, 2016
Clara Leath Moser Henderson (1924-2016) Obituary Leath Henderson died at age 91 in her home in Springville, Utah, on Sunday the 14th of February 2016, surrounded with family after recently advancing congestive heart failure. She was born in Auburn, Wyoming, to Charles & Priscilla (Porter) Moser on 24 April 1924, the seventh of fifteen children. Preceding her in death is her husband LeVon Henderson, her parents, all of her older siblings, and four of her younger siblings. She is survived by her brother Alma Moser and three sisters Carol Jensen Hansen, Hermoine Erickson, and Kathy King; as well as all of her children: Dixie Partridge, Anita Tanner, Kelly Henderson, Curtis Henderson, Philip Henderson, Nick Henderson, Jade Henderson, Jeris Shira Hudson; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. To the end, she retained a vivid memory of her childhood and lifetime in Star Valley, Wyoming, as well as each descendant, relatives, and friends; having moved from Wyoming winters to Springville in 2005 after her husband died in 1994. Her Moser family had a farm in Auburn, and at age 18 Leath moved across the valley to the Henderson family farm in Osmond upon marrying LeVon in the Salt Lake Temple in 1942. There were many years of hard work in agriculture and ranching that they also shouldered together with their children. But they also took opportunities together that began with dancing and built on songs, games, stories, rhymes, tongue-twisters, music, children, visits, reunions... She was an avid reader, a keen listener and observer, studied perpetually, and relished family history connections. Before the circle of life required some of her fierce independence give way for others to serve her, perhaps Leath Henderson will be remembered most for her candor and compassion, in lifelong Christian service to family, neighbors, community, and church. Her funeral is at 11 AM Friday, February 19, at Springville Utah Kolob 12th Ward on 1627 Cadbury Lane (1627 W 1200 S), preceded with a viewing at that location from 9 AM to 10:30. Graveside service will be at 1PM Saturday, February 20, at the Afton Wyoming Cemetery.
