In Loving Memory of Chad Lee Thompson

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Chad Lee Thompson, who entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday August 1, 2026 at 5 AM in Jackson, Wyoming.

Born and raised in Olympia, Washington, Chad was a true outdoorsman—a man’s man in every sense of the word. He found his greatest peace in the mountains, where he pursued his lifelong passion for big game hunting. Whether tracking elk through rugged country or simply spending time in God’s creation, Chad felt most alive outdoors. He treasured those experiences not because of the harvest, but because of the adventure, the friendships, and the quiet moments that reminded him of God’s handiwork.

Chad was also an accomplished general contractor whose integrity, craftsmanship, and strong work ethic earned the respect of all who knew him. He believed in doing things the right way, never taking shortcuts, and leaving every job better than he found it. His hands built more than homes—they built trust, lasting friendships, and a reputation that reflected the kind of man he was.

Above all else, Chad’s greatest pride and purpose was his family. For 34 beautiful years, he shared an extraordinary love with his wife, Stefani, his steadfast partner through every season. Together they built a life of love, faith, laughter, and unwavering commitment. He was a devoted father to his cherished daughters, Tessa and Sofie, who were the light of his life. He loved them unconditionally, celebrated their accomplishments, encouraged their dreams, and taught them by example what strength, integrity, and unconditional love look like. He was also a proud grandfather to Kooper Leseberg, who brought him immeasurable joy.

Chad is lovingly remembered by his wife, Stefani Thompson; daughter, Tessa (Kayleb Leseberg), grandson, Kooper Leseberg; daughter, Sofie; parents, Rolland and LaDeen Thompson; brothers, Randy Thompson and Jason Thompson; along with many extended family members, and lifelong friends. He lived with quiet strength, deep conviction, and a generous heart. While his family grieves the loss of his earthly presence, they find comfort in the assurance that he has been welcomed home and that they will one day be reunited with him.

Chad’s legacy lives on in every lesson he taught, every life he touched, every mountain trail he walked, and every memory he created with those he loved. He will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather, a faithful son, brother and loyal friend.

A Celebration of Chad’s Life will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026 at 11:30 AM at the Teton County Fair Community Building in Jackson, Wyoming. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be livestreamed on YouTube at @cornerstonechurch2664.
