Carl Heber Hillstead passed away peacefully in his home on January 27th, 2016. Carl known better, to those who loved him, as Heber, was born in Afton, Wyoming to George Noah and Jean Hillstead on September 12, 1943. Heber loved his family, music, hunting, horses, and sports. He held multiple callings for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had a loving, true, and honest relationship with his Heavenly Father. He is survived by his sisters; Lavon Lancaster and Jane (Steve) Taylor, brothers; George (Hazel) Hillstead and Lawrence (Pat) Hillstead; a loving wife, Evelyn Ann Hillstead; and stepdaughter, Maddie, sons; Robbie (Melinda) of Bedford, WY; Eric (Taia) Hillstead of Evanston, WY; Chad Hillstead of Eagle Mountain, UT; Chuck Hillstead of Bedford, WY; Mac (Shellie) Hillstead of Kemmerer, WY; and a loving daughter Patrice (Scott) Showell from Tremonton, Utah; step-sons Trevor (Christy) and Gavin(Ranee) Jenkins; and 27 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Heber is and will forever be a great and lasting influence in all our lives. "Our hearts are sinking like a setting sun, setting on the things we wished we'd done. Oh the last good-bye's the hardest one to say but this is where the cowboy rides away." A viewing will be held at the Schwab Funeral Home in Afton on Tuesday February 2, 2016 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The Funeral will be held on February 3, 2016 at 12:00 Noon at the Fairview LDS Chapel. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral service from 10:00 am - to 11:45 am.
