Bret
Hyde
July 1, 1962 – December 26, 2024
Bret Heman Hyde (Boo) was born July 1, 1962, to Terry Lancaster and
Doris June Van Vleet Hyde, in Afton. December 26, 2024, at the age of 62,
while living in Lander he returned home to his Heavenly Father. He is the
oldest of four brothers, Scott, Terry, and Mark.
Due to a difficult birth, Bret endured many challenges and obstacles
throughout his life. Even though he spoke few words he had an enjoyable
personality that always put a smile on your face. He loved all the people
around him. Once you meet Bret you couldn't help but to love him. He
loved wearing hats, root beer, and flipping through his magazine. He also
enjoyed being outdoors and going for walks in his youth and strolls in his
wheelchair as an adult.
In February 1971, Bret moved to what is now Wyoming Life Resource
Center in Lander, Wyoming. He spent holidays at home in Smoot in his
younger years with his family. In his adult years he was able to come home
to spend time in the mountains and with family in Star Valley during the
summer.
Brett is preceded in death by his parents Terry and Doris Hyde. His
grandparents Keith Deloss and Ruth Violet Lancaster Hyde, James Edwin
and Hazel Bruce Van Vleet.
He is survived by his brothers, Scott (Rachelle) of Thayne; Terry of Layton,
Utah; Mark (Jennifer) of Osmond; Uncle to 2 nieces, 8 nephews, 5 great
nieces, and 4 great nephews. He is also survived by 1 aunt, 3 uncles and
numerous cousins.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at the Bitter
Creek Ward Church. Interment Smoot Cemetery.
Thank You, to all the staff and residence that have cared for and loved Boo
for many years at Wyoming Life Resource Center in Lander, Wyoming. We
will be forever grateful for your Kindness, Love, and Friendship.
