Bettie Jean Lloyd
January 17, 1937 – May 5, 2014
Monday evening, May 5, 2014, by God's Divine Grace, Bettie Jean Lloyd peacefully passed from this life into the next while at her home and in the arms of her loving and devoted husband David.
Bettie was born on January 17, 1937 in the small town of Gould OK to parents J.T. and Iva Wyatt. Shortly after her birth, they moved to Texas, New Mexico and eventually settled in California. Between Texas and California, Bettie's younger sisters Patricia and Sheila were born. Surviving their elder sister, Patricia now resides with her husband Ed Woodland in Winter Springs FL, and Sheila resides with her husband in Fresno CA.
In August of 1953, a young Bettie Wyatt met her soul mate, the man who would become her husband and partner in this life, David Lloyd. The two were married on August 11, 1955. Bettie gave birth to three wonderful boys, James Walter in 1958, Robert Alan in 1959, and Donald Charles in 1966. Bettie was lovingly devoted to all her boys, which included her husband, her sons, and as a Cub Scout Den Mother, dozens of boys over the years who were fortunate enough to have her as a teacher and mentor. She used to say, "I gave birth to 3 boys, but I've raised over 50."
A gracious, kind and loving person, Bettie was loved by everyone who came to know her. Bettie loved the great outdoors, and she loved to hunt and fish along with her husband and sons. In 1979, Bettie, David, and two of their three sons, James and Donald, moved to Thayne WY, while son Robert chose a move to Santa Cruz, CA to attend college. Upon arriving in Wyoming, David and Bettie started and operated a successful outfitting business for the next 12 years. Son Donald continues to reside in Wyoming, as did son James until is passing in 2013. Son Robert currently resides in Lakeland FL.
Before her passing, Bettie asked that we express her heartfelt appreciation to everyone for all your kind thoughts and prayers while she was fighting her battle for life this past year. Her battle is now over, but her war is won as she joins all those who have gone before her into Grace.
Preceded in death by her first son James, Bettie is survived by her loving husband, David, devoted sons Robert and Donald, four grandchildren – Sarah, Jered, Brian and Shawon, and five great-grandchildren - Trista, Nathan, Clifford, Sydna, and Rylee. Joining in their grief and loss are Bettie's many nephews, nieces, and the many friends she made in her life's good journey.
